1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Veliqo(“Veliqo,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website and use our service at veliqo.net.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we receive your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. We use this to authenticate you and personalize the UI.
Content you upload
Documents you upload, text you paste, summaries we generate, quizzes, flashcards and chat messages are stored against your account so you can return to them. They are scoped to your user and never shown to other users.
Usage data
We log API calls, feature usage and aggregated error events so we can keep the service reliable. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Billing data
If you upgrade, payment is processed by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer and subscription ID, your plan, and the renewal date. We never see your full card number.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain and improve Veliqo.
- To authenticate you and protect your account.
- To enforce plan limits (e.g. daily summary or upload quotas).
- To send you transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts).
- To respond to support requests you initiate.
- To detect, prevent and respond to abuse or security incidents.
4. AI processing
To generate summaries, quizzes, flashcards and chat responses, we send the relevant text from your documents to AI model providers (currently OpenAI) over an encrypted connection. Per OpenAI’s API policy, content submitted via the API is not used to train their models.
Veliqo does not train any AI model on your data, ever.
5. Subprocessors
We rely on a small number of vetted vendors to deliver the service:
- Vercel — hosting and CDN (EU/US).
- Supabase — managed PostgreSQL database (Asia-Pacific Sydney).
- UploadThing — file storage for uploads.
- OpenAI — large language model and embedding inference.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Google — sign-in (only if you choose to use Google OAuth).
- Stripe — payment processing (only if you subscribe).
6. Data retention
Your documents, summaries, quizzes, decks and chats are kept until you delete them or close your account. Aggregated, non-identifiable usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for reliability and abuse-prevention.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA / UK / California), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you. You can:
- Delete any document, summary, quiz, deck or chat from the dashboard.
- Request a full export or full deletion of your account by emailing privacy@veliqo.net. We’ll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: HTTPS everywhere, JWT session tokens, server-side authorization on every request, encrypted database connections, and least-privilege secrets management. Read more on our Security page.
9. International transfers
Veliqo is operated from a remote-first team and our infrastructure runs in data centers in the Asia-Pacific and United States regions. By using the service you consent to your information being transferred across borders for processing.
10. Children
Veliqo is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when meaningful changes happen and update the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are material we’ll also send you an email.
